At the 2024 Olympic Games, skateboarding competitions took place. On Wednesday, August 7, the men's park qualification heats were held.

Among the competitors was 51-year-old Andy Macdonald from Great Britain, making him the oldest participant in the skateboarding events. Although he did not advance further, his performance garnered applause from skateboarding legend Tony Hawk.

Macdonald himself was pleased, smiling and telling his children through the camera, "Your dad is at the Games!"

Additionally, Irish representative Kellie Harrington won gold medals in boxing and subsequently announced her retirement from the sport.

фFor context, Cuban wrestler Lopez won his fifth consecutive gold medal at the Olympics at the age of 41.
