The Nigerian national team is close to employing French specialist Herve Renard as head coach, but not everyone in the football environment likes the idea.

Thus, about these intentions was expressed by former Super Eagles forward Julius Aghahowa, who does not share this idea. All because of the salary that the Frenchman is expected to receive:

"The coach (Herve Renard) is a very good coach, he has experience; when it comes to African and even world football, we have to be realistic. Can we afford him with this price tag?

Even when the former coach was running the team and earning about $50-70,000, we found it difficult to pay him back. We owed him for months, and now we're talking about an amount almost double that, and where are we going to get the money from?

We may not pay them as much as foreign coaches, but we pay them well, we give them enough time to build the team and I have confidence in our local coaches," Aghahowa said in a conversation with Brila FM.
