Barcelona is preparing for the summer transfer window and setting priorities for buying and selling players due to their financial situation. One of the players the Catalan club will try to acquire is João Félix.
The Portuguese player's contract belongs to Atletico Madrid, and the capital club's plans for him remain unclear. It was previously reported that Atletico would not count on Félix for the upcoming season and is ready to sell him.
However, Barcelona is currently considering the option of re-loaning the player under similar terms as last season. On the other hand, Atletico is interested in a full transfer of the forward, with the possibility of using the proceeds to sign new players.
If Xavi Hernández had remained as Barcelona's coach, Félix would likely not have stayed with the team. Although he showed excellent results throughout the season, he never became an integral part of the squad. But considering that there is a new coach at the helm, things might change. According to Sport, Hansi Flick sees the Portuguese player as very talented and capable of making a significant impact on the field.
It's hard to predict Félix's exact fate, but it's certain that Barcelona will try to re-loan the player. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid will actively offer the player to other clubs. Given the interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, we might see another Portuguese player moving to the Middle East.
Let us remind you that today we reported that Barcelona is not ready to sell their young talent even for a record amount.
