The Lions of Teranga fly to Ethiopia ahead of their clash with the Walia

Patrick Vieira’s side are aiming to secure their first victory in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

After a disappointing start to their campaign in Maputo against Mozambique on 25 September, the Senegal national team are now preparing for matchday 2 of the qualifiers. The Lions of Teranga will face the Walia on 29 September.

Ahead of this fixture, the players and coaching staff of the Senegal national team flew to Ethiopia on 27 September. The Lions of Teranga will be looking to bounce back in Addis Ababa after a difficult start in Maputo.

Senegal were held to a 1-1 draw by Mozambique in Group J on matchday 1. Against Ethiopia, the Senegalese have what it takes to make amends.

The Walia lost 1–0 away to Sudan in their opening match. On this second matchday, both Senegal and Ethiopia are looking to get back on track in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. This match is therefore set to be a decisive one for both teams.
