The former Chelsea manager is interested in coaching the England national team

Gareth Southgate has stepped down as head coach of the England national team. The Football Association is considering several candidates for the position.
According to Nizaar Kinsella of the BBC, former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is interested in leading the England team. Another former Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, is unlikely to be considered, as he is not even being mentioned among the candidates.
It was recently reported that Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is the leading candidate for the job. The Football Association is also considering former Chelsea managers Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Tuchel, along with England U21 coach Lee Carsley.
Nizaar Kinsella added that Eddie Howe and Pochettino are indeed regarded as serious contenders.
It is worth noting that the 53-year-old specialist led the England national team since September 2016. Under his guidance, the Three Lions reached the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup and twice played in the final of the European Championship, losing to Italy and Spain respectively.
