The contract of Fenerbahçe forward Michy Batshuayi is set to expire at the end of the month. Currently, there has been no indication that the club intends to extend his stay. Following the arrival of the legendary José Mourinho, the team is looking to sign new players.

As a result, Batshuayi has begun negotiations with other clubs, including Fenerbahçe's arch-rival, Galatasaray. This news has not been well-received by Fenerbahçe fans, leading to instances of violence against Batshuayi's family, according to his wife, Amelie Maria.

On her Instagram page, she wrote:

"When you don't know what happens behind the scenes, don't point fingers at the innocent.

The real culprits are those who do not take responsibility.

Shame on those who threaten my family and wish death upon my child over football, and you dare talk to me about family? What a disgrace!"

She also posted an image containing a direct death threat, which she later deleted. In another screenshot, a user sent multiple monkey emojis.

Michy Batshuayi is a product of Belgian football academies. In 2014, he moved to France to play for Marseille, and two years later, he joined Chelsea. He subsequently had stints at Borussia Dortmund, Valencia, Crystal Palace, and Beşiktaş before moving to Fenerbahçe in 2022. Over the past two years, he helped the team win the Turkish Cup in the 2022/23 season, and Fenerbahçe finished second in the league this past season.
