The defender of the Spanish national team and Al-Nassr, Aymeric Laporte, will miss the opening match of "La Furia Roja" against Croatia at Euro 2024.

According to AS, the defender sustained a muscle injury. He will undergo today's training session with the Spanish national team following an individual program.

In the 2023/24 season, the 30-year-old defender played 39 matches for Saudi club Al-Nassr in all competitions, scoring four goals. For the "Red Fury" of Spain, Laporte has appeared in 29 matches throughout his career, scoring one goal.

Spain will compete in Group B, where they will face Croatia, Italy, and Albania. The match against Croatia is scheduled for Saturday, June 15th. Kick-off is at 18:00 Central European Time.

Today, June 14th, marks the beginning of the UEFA Euro 2024 Championship. The continental tournament will take place in Germany until July 14th. The opening match between Germany and Scotland will kick off at 21:00 Central European Time.
