The decision has been made. Simeone speaks out about Álvarez's future at Atlético
Atlético Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has commented on the future of Julián Álvarez, who remains at the center of ongoing transfer rumors. According to the Argentine manager, the club's stance is crystal clear—Atlético plan to keep the striker in their squad.
The situation is perfectly clear, the club has made its decision, and Miguel Ángel Gil Marín explained it very well. We are very happy with Julián and, from a sporting perspective, we will help him continue to grow and improve,
Simeone stated at a press conference in Seoul.
Earlier, during the World Cup, Álvarez hinted that he would like to leave Atlético to pursue his dream. He has been linked with possible moves to other top clubs, but Atlético are not prepared to let go of one of their key players without a fight.
Simeone also recalled the situation with Antoine Griezmann, who once found himself in a similar position after returning to Atlético.
We already have a precedent. Griezmann had to prove his qualities and level on the pitch. I don't see any other way but to act from a sporting point of view and support the player, just as we have done over the past two years,
the coach noted.
Thus, Atlético have no intention of letting Álvarez go and expect the Argentine to continue his development in Madrid.
