Bayern director Max Eberl responded negatively to whether De Zerbi would become the head coach of the Munich team.

When asked if he could deny that the new coach would be Italian, Eberl replied affirmatively. His words were reported by Fabrizio Romano.

"Can you deny if I predict that the new coach will be Italian?" - "Yes," Eberl replied.

Today, Brighton announced that Roberto De Zerbi will leave the club at the end of the season. The Italian coach will step down after the final match of the season against Manchester United on May 19th.

Earlier reports indicated that the Italian was the top candidate for the position of head coach at Bayern. It was reported that the sports director of the Munich club had even already held initial discussions with the Italian specialist.

Previously, Bayern failed to reach agreements with Oliver Glasner, who recently started working with Crystal Palace. The club also couldn't find common ground with Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, and Ralf Rangnick to succeed Thomas Tuchel.
