Bayern Munich has identified the primary candidate for the position of coach
Bild reports that the leadership of Bayern Munich has identified the primary contender for the position of head coach.
Italian tactician Roberto De Zerbi, currently at the helm of Brighton, emerges as the leading candidate. Bayern's sporting director has already initiated preliminary discussions with the coach, and if he agrees to the transition, the Munich-based club will pay €12 million to the Seagulls.
De Zerbi's name was already discussed during the supervisory board meeting on Monday. Eberl presented his options to the board members, with Tuchel initially considered, followed by De Zerbi as an alternative. Currently, there are no other alternatives. On Monday, the supervisory board decided that the return of Hansi Flick is no longer a possibility.
However, as we know, Thomas Tuchel has declined to continue his collaboration with Bayern Munich. The reason being Bayern Munich's sporting director, Max Eberl, failed to garner support from the club's top management.
