The Atlas Lions head to South Africa ahead of their match against Lesotho

Mohamed Ouahbi and his players are gearing up for matchday 2 of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Following their 2-0 victory over Gabon on Friday 25 September in the opening match of the qualifiers, Morocco are travelling to South Africa for their second fixture.

The Atlas Lions will face Lesotho on 29 September at the Free State Stadium. The Lesotho team do not have a CAF-approved stadium and have chosen to play their home matches on South African soil.

Morocco will therefore be hosted in South Africa for matchday 2 of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Ahead of 29 September, Mohamed Ouahbi’s side will be acclimatising with a few training sessions.

Morocco will be looking to build on the strong start they made at home against Gabon in the race to qualify for the next Africa Cup of Nations, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
