Teofimo Lopez challenged Cruz to a unification fight after his win over Cladgett

The WBO World Champion in the light welterweight division, Teofimo Lopez, has called out Isaac 'Pitbull' Cruz, the WBA titleholder in the same weight class, following his victory over Steve Claggett.

If Cruz agrees, this sets the stage for a unification bout in the light welterweight division.

Lopez recently defended his title by defeating Claggett with a unanimous decision from the judges (120-108, 119-109, and 120-108) on the night of June 30.

While the fight was closely contested, Lopez demonstrated his superiority throughout the twelve rounds, leading to a decisive victory by unanimous decision from the judges.

Isaac Cruz, aged 26 and representing Mexico, secured his belt on March 30 by defeating Rolando Romero.
