Despite his outstanding play this season, Mohamed Salah has reportedly been honest when he says he has not received a renewal offer from Liverpool.
With an outstanding 13 goals and 11 assists in 20 games across all competitions, Salah, whose contract expires in the summer of 2025, has expressed irritation at the club's lack of communication about his future.
According to the Daily Mail, quoting The Athletic, Liverpool has lately prioritized an offer for Virgil van Dijk, whose contract expires in 2025.
Negotiations with the Dutch defender, however, appear to have halted due to unmet expectations. Salah is believed to be the next on the official offer list.
Interestingly, despite rumors that he is linked to Real Madrid, Trent Alexander-Arnold has not yet received an offer. Along with Salah, Liverpool is reportedly trying to secure the full-back's future.
Even if he signed a three-year extension at the last minute, Salah's unsettled contract status reflects the uncertainties of the 2021–2022 season.
In the meantime, there are still reports that he is moving to teams in Saudi Arabia, the US, and Europe.
