Istanbul's Besiktas is plotting a surprise move in the final days of the transfer window. According to Footmercato, the Turkish club has submitted a proposal for Liverpool goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.
The source reports that Besiktas wants to take Mamardashvili on a six-month loan for €2 million. Liverpool has yet to give a definitive answer, but if the Reds agree to a temporary deal for the Georgian, Freddy Woodman would become Alisson's primary backup.
For the record, the Georgian shot-stopper joined Anfield last summer, with the Merseysiders paying Valencia around €30 million. However, the 25-year-old has struggled to secure a starting spot: Arne Slot continues to rely on Alisson Becker, leaving Mamardashvili to settle for a backup role.
