Teboho Potsane brace silences Kaizer Chiefs as Siwelele FC beats Kaizer Chiefs 2-0 in Bloemfontein to boost their top eight finish hopes
Teboho Potsane netted a brace for Siwelele FC to revive their top eight finish hopes to beat Kaizer Chiefs in a Betway Premiership match this evening.
Potsane, a former Chiefs player, ensured his side’s maximum points at Toyota Stadium with a first half brace beating Chiefs’ on-form goalkeeper, Brandon Peterson, inside the first 35 minutes.
Chiefs were star struck as Siwelele gave them little time to settle in Bloemfontein.
Amakhosi went to the City of Mangaung at the backdrop of an impressive showing in the Soweto derby, where they drew 1-1 against Orlando Pirates, but their lacklustre display in Mangaung was not enough.
Despite the loss, though, the Soweto side still remain on the third spot, still five points clear of AmaZulu, who have 42 on the fourth spot.
The win is a massive one for Siwelele who are now on the ninth spot with 32 points and just three less than eighth placed Golden Arrows.
This win against Chiefs will spur them on to finish on a high as the season draws to the end.
