Teboho Mokoena's reputation is coming back to haunt him.

The Bafana Bafana midfield earned the tournament's maiden yellow card when he was cautioned for a foul last Thursday.

Mokoena left the field with his team-mates Nkosinathi Sibisi also on the books of the Brazilian referee Wilton Sampaio.

Mokoena and Sibisi now face the possibility of avoiding being booked this Thursday against Czechia or risk missing the game against South Korea should they get booked.

Should the duo receive yellow cards against Czechia at the Mercedes Benz Stadium then they will not be part of the starting line up against South Korea in their last game of Group A.

Mokoena and Sibisi are Hugo Broos' trusted men and chances of them being sidelined with no reason are slim.

Yet also expecting them to give a half hearted effort in a game without risking a caution is like asking a fish to swim outside water.

So this is a catch-22 situation for Bafana as they need their best players for all their games.
