Tension is brewing at Real Madrid as a new conflict emerges within the squad. Head coach Álvaro Arbeloa has made a bold move by excluding Dani Ceballos from the squad list for the trip to Seville’s “La Cartuja” stadium. The incident unfolded on the eve of the match against Betis—a fixture with special significance for the Utrera native.
Details: According to Diario AS, Ceballos’s omission is not injury-related but the result of a strict disciplinary decision by the coaching staff. Arbeloa opted to take two academy players—Sestero and Manuel Ángel—instead, leaving out the experienced midfielder, a move that dealt a heavy blow to Ceballos.
Reports suggest the decision stems from ongoing disagreements between the coach and the player, who has openly voiced his frustration over a lack of playing time.
At the post-match press conference, Álvaro Arbeloa was terse and unequivocal when questioned about the midfielder’s absence:
"I take those who I believe are necessary," the coach replied curtly when asked about the conflict
Notably, the Spaniard has made 22 appearances for the Madrid club this season but has yet to register a goal or assist.
Reminder: Real’s club channel has accused referees of mistakes and hinted at bias.
