Taiwo Awoniyi Scores Brace on 100th Appearance as Nottingham Forest Beat Chelsea 3-1
Taiwo Awoniyi delivered a standout performance on his 100th appearance for Nottingham Forest, scoring twice in a convincing 3-1 victory over Chelsea.
The Nigerian striker wasted no time making an impact, opening the scoring just two minutes into the match with a well-taken finish from a cross by Dilane Bakwa.
Forest doubled their lead in the 15th minute when Igor Jesus calmly converted from the penalty spot after a VAR decision went in their favour.
Awoniyi returned after the break to seal his brace in the 52nd minute, finishing off a well-worked move assisted by Morgan Gibbs-White to put Forest firmly in control at 3-0.
Chelsea managed a late consolation through Joao Pedro in stoppage time, but it did little to change the outcome as Forest secured an impressive win.
