This is certainly not the debut Jesse Derry had dreamed of.

Details: Today, during the 35th round of the English Premier League between Chelsea and Nottingham Forest, a terrifying and distressing scene unfolded.

As the first half was drawing to a close, Chelsea were trailing 0-2, and the Blues’ 18-year-old winger Jesse Derry bravely challenged Nottingham defender Zak Abbott, only to suffer a severe head injury.

Referee Anthony Taylor awarded a penalty to Chelsea, but Derry was forced to leave the pitch on a stretcher.

It’s worth noting that Chelsea failed to convert the penalty. Cole Palmer was unable to beat the Nottingham goalkeeper.

After the first half, the score stood at 0-2 in favor of Nottingham Forest.
