Steve Barker speaks on transfer-listed Stellenbosch FC duo of Lesiba Nku and Lehlohonolo Mojela
Steve Barker’s Stellenbosch FC shocked the football fraternity by placing Lesiba Nku and Lehlohonolo Mojela on the transfer list
The shock stems from the fact that the two players have been impressive in their PSL careers and have looked like players whose experience can help Stellies move off the relegation quagmire.
Stellenbosch FC are second from bottom of the Betway Premiership standings.
Nku joined from Mamelodi Sundown after an initial loan spell while Mojela joined from TS Galaxy two seasons ago.
Coach Barker offered a different and details explanation on the transfer-listed duo.
“I think Lesiba, at his age and quality, wants to be playing a lot more than he is. It does lead to some frustration at times,” he said on Metro FM.
“Bradley came to the club, started really well for us and had a big massive injury, was out for close to a year with his ACL. He’s struggled a bit to regain his mojo and confidence and belief.
“Sometimes you have honest chats to each other as player and coach, and sometimes those situation require maybe a different club, different move, just to refresh them and get their careers back on track
“I’ve got massive respect for both players, both as people and as footballers, and then whenever we reach these type of situations, it’s not taken lightly or easy.
This evening Stellenbosch are in Rustenburg for their match against Orbit College at Olympia Stadium.
The game starts at 7.30pm.
