Stellenbosch FC's Gavin Hunt on their Betway Premiership clash against Magesi FC: We have to play with good energy and purpose at home in order to win

Gavin Hunt expects Stellenbosch FC to apply themselves in a different manner to the way they played in the Caf Confederation Cup in tomorrow’s clash against Magesi FC in a Betway Premiership match.

Hunt said that they are also playing at home in this encounter should count for something as they host the Limpopo side at the Danie Craven for the first time in five months.

“At home, we have to make it count, be on the front foot, and play with good energy and purpose,” Hunt told his club website.

“It’s important to be back home, and we are very happy to be back in front of our home supporters,” “It will be my first game here as well, so I am really excited and looking forward to it.”

Hunt’s Stellies just lost out in the Caf Confederation Cup Group Stages last weekend and now they have their energies sharply focused on the domestic front.

Four points separate them from the bottom placed Magesi and the Cape Winelands side are also looking to climb up the PSL standings going into this game.

“Domestically, we’ve been okay, and won both games since I arrived. Obviously, our form in Africa wasn’t good, but that was a very experimental situation for me to play everybody, but now we need to knuckle down and try to get a consistent team out there,” Hunt said.

“That’s going to be the most important thing, and then we can take it from there.”

The match starts at 7.30pm.
