Gavin Hunt has vowed that Golden Arrows cannot beat his Stellenbosch FC side twice in one month.

Hunt’s Stellies were knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by Arrows away from home earlier this month and this evening the Cape winelands club is in Kwa-Zulu Natal for a Betway Premiership tie against Arrows.

But the former SuperSport United and Kaizer Chiefs coach said this will be a different game to the one they lost.

“This will be the second time that we play them in a month. We played really well in the first game, and I think we were unfortunate, but we missed a lot of opportunities,” he told his club website.

“We didn’t take our chances, and they took the one they had, so we got beaten and knocked out of the Nedbank Cup, but this will be a different game.”

Hunt also showered praise to newly-signed striker Wonderboy Makhubu who scored his maiden goal for Stellies last Friday in a 1-1 draw against TS Galaxy.

“Wonderboy has done okay,” Hunt reflected.

“He’s come in and given us something different from what we had upfront and a few different options to play with. He has got his first goal now, and I think he will be a big part of the Club going forward.

“We just need to let him settle down a bit more, but he’ll be fine. I’m happy for him that he was able to get his first goal, and long may it continue with him getting more in the coming weeks.”

The match this evening at King Zwelithini Stadium starts at 7.30pm.
