SSC Napoli fans will not be able to attend the away match against Juventus. What is the reason?

One of the key matches in the fifth round of Serie A will be between Juventus and SSC Napoli. The game will take place at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, but SSC Napoli fans will not be allowed to attend. This decision was made by the Turin prosecutor.

Details: Just 24 hours before the match, it was announced that fans from Naples would not be able to attend the game. Approximately 2,000 Napoli supporters were expected to travel to Turin, but the prosecutor has barred them from entering the stadium.

According to Goal, the decision was made following clashes between Napoli and Cagliari fans during last week's Serie A match, which led to a seven-minute interruption of the game.

Quote: “SSC Napoli informs that regarding the Juventus vs Napoli match, scheduled for Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 6:00 PM at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, the Turin prefect has ruled:

• A ban on ticket sales to residents of the province of Naples, even if they hold a Napoli loyalty card, except for Juventus loyalty cardholders who obtained the card before September 21, 2024;
• Tickets for the away section will only be sold to SSC Napoli loyalty cardholders residing anywhere in the world, except for the province of Naples;
• A ban on ticket sales at betting shops and all other physical locations in the province of Naples;
• A ban on online ticket sales;
• Non-transferability of tickets.”

Reminder: Following the clashes at the Unipol Domus in Cagliari, both clubs were fined €30,000.

The match between Juventus and Napoli will take place today at 6:00 PM Central European Time. Currently, Juventus sits in sixth place in the standings, while Napoli is in third.
