Striker Victor Osimhen, or rather his future, is a sore subject for Napoli. And although in the short term they managed to get rid of him on loan to Galatasaray, but in the long term Napoli intend to do something about it.

So, the club's sporting director Giovanni Manna admitted that the Nigerian does not want to play for Napoli, so they want to get rid of him:

‘The situation with Osimhen has affected us. He himself has expressed his desire that he doesn't want to play for Napoli anymore and that he really wants to leave.’

But at the same time Manna emphasises that a loan as such was not considered in principle, only a transfer, but Galatasaray's offer suited the club:

‘It was an opportunity. They approached us as soon as the summer transfer window closed. At the beginning we were not ready for the idea. We didn't want to give Osimhen on loan. After talking to the player, we found a solution that suited everyone. We wanted to sell him, but it was not to be,’ Manna is quoted by ArenaNapoli.
