OFFICIAL. Osimhen has become a footballer of Galatasaray

One of the most unexpected transfers of 2024 has been officially confirmed!

Victor Osimhen is now a Galatasaray player. The Turkish champions announced on their official website that the Nigerian striker has joined on loan until the end of the season.

Under the agreement, Galatasaray will cover Osimhen's entire salary, which amounts to €11 million per year.

Osimhen will wear the number 45 jersey at Galatasaray.

It’s notable that the deal does not include a purchase option for Galatasaray. Additionally, Osimhen has compiled a list of 10 top clubs that the Turkish side must release him to if an offer comes in during the winter of 2025.

During his four seasons at Napoli, Osimhen scored 76 goals in 133 matches across all competitions. In the 2022/23 season, which saw Napoli clinch the Scudetto, Osimhen was the top scorer in Serie A with 26 goals.

Galatasaray failed to qualify for the Champions League this summer and will instead compete in the group stage of the Europa League. Their opponents include PAOK, RFS, Elfsborg, Tottenham, AZ Alkmaar, Malmö, Dynamo Kyiv, and Ajax.

It’s worth recalling that Osimhen’s moves to Chelsea and Al-Ahli fell through during the summer, and Napoli had already excluded him from their Serie A squad list for the season.
