Spanish federation not yet ready to offer de la Fuente a new contract due to bureaucracy

Head coach of the Spanish national team, Luis de la Fuente, recently hinted at his dissatisfaction with his current contract, implying that he deserves a new one. However, the Spanish federation is not prepared to offer an updated deal just yet, and here’s why.
Details: According to Cadena Cope, the delay is due to ongoing organizational issues within the Spanish federation. Former president Luis Rubiales was suspended following a scandal, leaving interim president Pedro Rocha and the temporary committee without the authority to negotiate or alter de la Fuente’s contract.
Rubiales had promised de la Fuente a new agreement with a higher salary, but with his suspension, this promise remains unfulfilled. The coach will need to wait until a new, permanent leadership is appointed to make any decisions about his contract and salary.
Reminder: De la Fuente currently earns around one million euros per year, notably less than his predecessors.
