Italian Football Federation president Gabriele Gravina admitted that Italy’s defeat against Norway (0-3) was unacceptable.

Details: In a comment to Eurosport, Gravina said the following:

You can lose to Norway, but not like this; it’s unacceptable. The season has worn the guys out, and we weren’t ready to face such an opponent.

I can’t even imagine another World Cup without Italy.

Gravina is set to meet with head coach Luciano Spalletti on Tuesday after the match against Moldova.

The risk of dismissal remains high: under Spalletti’s leadership, the team has won only 11 out of 23 matches, with six draws and six defeats. Journalists are already naming Stefano Pioli and Claudio Ranieri as potential replacements.

It’s worth recalling that Italy last participated in the World Cup finals in 2014, having failed to qualify in both 2018 and 2022.
