Spain vs France: kick-off time, how to watch, Live stream & TV channel
All semifinal pairs at Euro 2024 have been determined, and the first ticket to the last stage of the tournament will be played on Tuesday by the national teams of Spain and France.
Spain vs France: what to know about the match?
Before the start of Euro2024, Spain was considered far from the main favorite. According to the analytical portal Opta Furia Roja ranked only fourth in this list. But from the very start of the continental championship, the Spaniards managed to disprove this opinion. Back in the group stage, the team from the Iberian Peninsula won three victories without conceding a single goal. Next on their way met the Georgians, who also could not resist their onslaught and lost 1:4. The last step on the way to the semifinals was a meeting with the hosts of the tournament - the Germans, who gave a decent fight, but lost in extra time (1:2). It should be noted that after the group stage, the Spaniards have significantly improved their position in the list of favorites of the tournament and according to Opta ranked second behind the English only 0.5%.
The French, along with England, were considered clear favorites for Euro 2024 before it started. But already from the first match they started to show rather unstable soccer. Having won just once and drawn twice, they lost the leading position to Austria. In the 1/8 finals they met with Belgium, which they minimally defeated thanks to a goal. In the quarterfinals, Le Blue waited for a meeting with the neighbors of their future rivals - the national team of Portugal. Already in this match, the French had to try hard, and they brought the match to a penalty shootout, where the fateful was a miss by Joao Felix. It should be noted that for the entire tournament, namely for five matches, the French accounted for only one goal, and that from a penalty kick. The other two goals were sent by their opponents into their own gates.
The history of personal meetings between these teams has a rich enough history, but the last time at a major tournament the teams met at Euro 2012 in the quarterfinals. Then the stronger were the Spaniards, who won 2:0 thanks to a double by current Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso.
