August 6 marked the conclusion of the 11th day of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.

A multitude of both dazzling and disappointing events transpired on Tuesday, but here are the most sensational outcomes!

Football. Spain's women fall to Brazil

The dominance of Spanish football does not extend to their women's team. While the men's teams won Euro 2024, Euro U-19, and are set to play in the Olympic final, the women lost to Brazil in the semifinals in Paris.

Spain, considered the favorites with odds of 1.55, were defeated 2-4 by Brazil, who had odds of 6.79. A draw was rated at 3.93.

In the Olympic final, Brazil will face the USA, who defeated Germany in extra time in their semifinal.

Individual Show Jumping. Fond of horses?

World ranking leader Henrik von Eckermann from Sweden fell off his horse midway through the individual show jumping finals.

The Swede, who already won gold in the team event at the Tokyo Games, couldn't repeat his success. Fortunately, he appears to be unharmed.

Another notable incident involved Britain's Harry Charles, who withdrew from the competition due to his horse's poor physical condition.

Germany's Christian Kukuk won the gold in a jump-off.

Wrestling. Massive upset as reigning Olympic champion exits in the Round of 16

Olympic freestyle wrestling champion Yui Susaki of Japan, with four World Championship golds to her name, was the clear favorite, having never lost on the international stage.

However, in the Round of 16, she faced Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat and suffered a shocking defeat, losing 2-3 and exiting the Games.

1500m race. Sensational American sets Olympic record

American runner Cole Hocker won gold in this event, setting a new Olympic record with a time of 3:27.65. Surprisingly, he wasn't even considered an underdog, aside from some US media outlets.

The main favorite was Norway's Jakob Ingebrigtsen, who won Olympic gold in Tokyo and held the previous Olympic record of 3:28.32. Today, Ingebrigtsen finished fourth, missing out on a medal.

British athlete Josh Kerr took silver, while another American, Yared Nuguse, claimed bronze.

Basketball. Medal contenders eliminated in the quarterfinals

Canada's star-studded men's basketball team, a tournament favorite, was defeated by the host nation France, 73-82.

France led from the first minute and never allowed Canada to equalize or take the lead.

In the semifinals, France will face Germany, who eliminated Italy 76-63.
