Something unprecedented: fans steal VAR cable in the 2. Bundesliga and prevent the referee from reviewing the incident

In the Matchday 25 clash of the German 2. Bundesliga, Preussen Münster hosted Hertha Berlin, and a very unusual incident took place during the game.

Details: Towards the end of the first half, the referee decided to review a VAR incident to determine whether a penalty should be awarded. However, fans of the home team stole the cable that enables the VAR system to function.

The referee was unable to review the situation himself, and the final decision was therefore made by the official operating the VAR system. In the end, a penalty was awarded, which Hertha successfully converted.

Hertha won the match 2–1. They are now sixth in the table with 40 points after 25 rounds.
