Slot becomes the fourth manager to lead the Premier League at Christmas in his debut season. Who were the first three?

Arne Slot has delivered a spectacular first half of his debut season at Liverpool.

The Merseyside club is dominating on the UEFA Champions League group stage and sits atop the Premier League table at Christmas. Such an achievement in a manager's debut season in England is a rare feat.

Details: Slot is only the fourth manager to lead the Premier League table at Christmas in his first season in the competition. The previous three were José Mourinho (2004/05), Carlo Ancelotti (2009/10), and Antonio Conte (2016/17).

Interestingly, each of these managers went on to win the Premier League title in those seasons.

Reminder: The Dutch coach took charge of Liverpool in the summer, succeeding Jürgen Klopp after his successful spell at Feyenoord.

Earlier, Slot noted that it’s too early to focus on the league standings, emphasizing the importance of evaluating positions after the second half of the season begins.
