In the fifth round of the Europa League, Aston Villa took a commanding 2-0 lead over Swiss side Young Boys by halftime. However, the match was marred by an unsavory incident.
Details: During the celebration of Aston Villa’s opening goal against Young Boys, winger Donyell Malen was pelted with objects from the stands, resulting in a minor head wound that caused some bleeding. Fifteen minutes later, Malen netted his second of the night and celebrated with a smile right in front of the Young Boys supporters’ section.
This season, the Dutchman has made eighteen appearances for the Birmingham club, scoring six goals and providing one assist.
Reminder: Jadon Sancho, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa, could return to Borussia Dortmund.
