On November 4–5, all matches of matchday 12 were played in the South African Betway Premiership.

On Tuesday, Sekhukhune failed to win for the fifth consecutive game, settling for a draw against Richards Bay. Chippa United and Magesi ended goalless, while Polokwane secured an away victory over AmaZulu. In another clash, Kaizer Chiefs demolished Orbit College.

The following day, Durban City overcame Marumo Gallants, and Siwelele clinched their second win in a row. The current season's frontrunners—Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns—also picked up victories in their respective fixtures.

Dailysports presents the symbolic team of matchday 12 of the South African Betway Premiership.

Goalkeeper: Ronwen Williams (Mamelodi Sundowns)

The Bafana Bafana shot-stopper continues to set the standard for reliability in the Betway Premiership. Against TS Galaxy, he kept his sixth clean sheet of the season. Williams made three saves and delivered a commanding performance between the posts, giving Mamelodi’s outfield players the freedom to express themselves on the pitch.

Right-back: Tholo Thabang Matuludi (Polokwane City)

Matuludi had a stellar outing against AmaZulu. The Bafana Bafana defender was as energetic as ever down the flank, taking on defenders, delivering incisive passes, and testing the goalkeeper. He also racked up 4 interceptions, 6 clearances, and won 5 fouls, making him the undisputed man of the match.

Centre-back: Harold Majadibodu (Chippa United)

The 30-year-old centre-half featured for Bafana Bafana at the African Nations Championship in the summer, but after moving to Chippa United, he struggled for playing time. Only recently has Majadibodu become a regular, and in the match against Magesi, he helped his team secure a point and kept a clean sheet for the second time this season.

Centre-back: Zitha Kwinika (Kaizer Chiefs)

Kwinika has cemented his place in the starting XI in recent matches, showing consistent form and leaving no doubts about his quality. Against Orbit College, he was a defensive rock, making 8 clearances, dominating aerial duels, and blocking a crucial shot.

Left-back: Nkosikhona Ndaba (Orlando Pirates)

Ndaba was left out of the Orlando Pirates’ starting lineup for a long time, but when Ouaddou gave him his chance, he proved he could match Hotto’s contributions. Ndaba was excellent on the left flank against Golden Arrows and played a key role in the Pirates' opening goal.

Central midfielder: Yanela Mbuthuma (Orlando Pirates)

Mbuthuma hasn’t been a regular starter, but in the last match he proved his worth, coming on in the middle of the second half and clinching victory over Golden Arrows. The former Richards Bay player injected life into the attack—his brace was the key reason the Pirates celebrated the win.

Central midfielder: Haashim Domingo (Durban City)

The experienced midfielder joined Durban in the summer and has already secured a place in the starting lineup. Against Marumo, Domingo scored his first goal for Durban City, which turned out to be the match-winner. Thanks to this result, the top-flight newcomers maintain their mid-table position.

Central midfielder: Mduduzi Shabalala (Kaizer Chiefs)

In mid-October, Shabalala made his debut for Bafana Bafana, coming on as a substitute in a World Cup qualifier against Rwanda, and has since continued to impress for his club. In the last game, Mduduzi was the star, bagging a brace and providing an assist. It’s no surprise that the 21-year-old midfielder was named man of the match against Orbit College.

Left winger: Artur Sales (Mamelodi Sundowns)

The 23-year-old Brazilian remains one of the Sundowns’ key men and showcased his quality against TS Galaxy. It was a tough contest, but Artur Sales made the difference after coming on at halftime, netting the winner to keep Mamelodi at the summit of the table.

Right winger: Mfundo Vilakazi (Kaizer Chiefs)

The 19-year-old prodigy returned from the U-20 World Cup and has since enjoyed regular minutes for the Chiefs. Against Orbit College, Vilakazi repaid the coaches’ faith by scoring his first goal of the season. His attacking intent was evident—he was never shy to take on defenders and came close to a brace.

Centre forward: Flavio Silva (Kaizer Chiefs)

The experienced striker arrived in South Africa from Indonesia this summer but has struggled for consistent game time. Silva is rarely in the starting lineup, but when called upon, he delivers. His goal against Orbit College was his fourth in five matches this season, underlining his quality in front of goal.

Head coaches: Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef (Kaizer Chiefs)

Since Nasreddine Nabi’s departure, Kaizer Chiefs have shown marked improvement. The team is unbeaten since mid-September and has won three straight matches. The Amakhosi have also reached the CAF Confederation Cup group stage—credit goes not only to the players but also to the coaching duo. Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef have united the squad around a common goal, and the Chiefs are now genuine medal contenders.
