With Lionel Messi’s contract at Inter Miami set to expire, the Argentine superstar’s future remains up in the air. Now, clubs are hoping to lure the legend to their ranks.

Details: According to L'Équipe, Saudi side Al-Ahli has initiated talks with the multiple Ballon d'Or winner. Reports indicate the Middle Eastern club is "ready to do everything possible" to secure the Argentine forward’s signature.

Financial terms of the offer to Messi have not been disclosed, but Al-Ahli, backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, is prepared to put a hefty sum on the table. Ultimately, the decision will rest with Messi and his family.

Reminder: Messi’s contract with Inter Miami expires at the end of the year, and the club is determined to keep the Argentine star. In September 2024, Inter Miami announced the construction of a new stadium—Miami Freedom Park—set to open in 2026. Messi’s presence could draw international attention to the grand event.
