Today, on December 3rd, in Östersund, Sweden, the men's pursuit race took place, marking the final race of the first stage of the World Cup.

Following yesterday's sprint, where 12 athletes finished within a minute of each other, the competition promised to be intense. Biathletes covered a 12.5 km distance with four shooting ranges.

Philipp Nawrath led for much of the race but lost significant time during the final shooting, allowing Samuelsson to move ahead. In the last lap, the Swedish athlete left no chance for Nawrath and secured a lead of over five seconds at the finish line. Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen crossed the finish line third.

Johannes Thingnes Boe, despite finishing 15th due to three missed shots during shooting, remains a top contender for the season.

  1. Sebastian Samuelsson (Sweden) — 31:38.4 (3)
  2. Philipp Nawrath (Germany) +5.1 (2)
  3. Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen (Norway) +7.9 (1)
  4. Tariel Boe (Norway) +29.6 (1)
  5. Endre Stroemsheim (Norway) +38.2 (2)
  6. Martin Ponsiluoma (Sweden) +42.5 (2)
