Liverpool's star winger, Mohamed Salah, will not join the Egyptian national team for the upcoming training camps.

According to The Athletic, the Egyptian Football Federation accommodated Liverpool's request not to call up the player due to a congested schedule. The club emphasized that Salah would benefit from resting as he has just recovered from a patellar tendon injury.

Eventually, the local Football Federation decided to grant the request from the Merseyside club. As a result, Salah will miss Egypt's friendly match against New Zealand scheduled for March 22.

In the current season, the 31-year-old winger has played 29 matches for Liverpool in all competitions, scoring 19 goals and providing 10 assists. His participation in the 2024 African Cup of Nations with the national team was unsuccessful, as Salah sustained an injury in the second group stage match and did not play further in the tournament.

Earlier, the Egyptian star discussed whether he plans to leave Liverpool at the end of the season.
