Endo will not play at the World Cup.
Details: Today it was revealed that 33-year-old defensive midfielder for Japan and Liverpool, Wataru Endo, will be unable to participate in the World Cup matches, having left the national team camp due to injury.
Reports indicate that Endo's injury is too serious for the coaching staff to keep him in the squad hoping for a recovery during the tournament.
Replacing Endo at the World Cup is 26-year-old Borussia Mönchengladbach forward, Shuto Machino.
At the World Cup, Japan is drawn into Group F, where they'll face Tunisia, Sweden, and the Netherlands.
