Rumors swirl: new details emerge about Guardiola's split with his wife

Spanish journalists Lorena Vázquez and Laura Fa have shared their insights into what might have been the breaking point in Pep Guardiola's separation from his wife, Cristina Serra. They suggest that Cristina made the decision to leave Pep after learning of his choice to extend his contract with Manchester City.

According to the journalists, Guardiola initially planned to step away from the club, but when the team encountered a crisis, he felt compelled to stay and signed a two-year extension.
“That decision not to renew was helping bring him closer to his wife but when he decided to stay and extend his contract Cristina decided enough was enough and it was her that decided to end the marriage that had lasted so many years. All the people we've spoken to talk about Pep being obsessed about football and that it goes before everything, and here it's gone before his marriage and that has cost him,” Vázquez and Fa revealed.
However, they also noted that friends close to the couple believe reconciliation is still possible, especially if Guardiola decides to step away from football entirely and return to Barcelona.
