Maria Guardiola, the eldest daughter of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, has given her first interview since the news of her parents' divorce became public. Speaking to Vanity Fair, Maria reflected on her relationship with her parents and the values they instilled in her.

“My parents have always advised me to find what I am passionate about. They encourage me to try new things, to accept failure and to keep searching until I find my calling, because when I do, full dedication will come naturally. They also remind me that the most important thing in life is to love and be loved,” Maria shared.

She refrained from commenting directly on her parents’ separation or the reasons behind it. However, an unnamed “close family friend” suggested that the split was due to Pep’s workaholic nature and the significant time the couple spent apart.

For the past five years, the couple reportedly lived separate lives, with Cristina relocating to Barcelona to run her own business while Pep remained in Manchester, dedicating himself entirely to football.
