Details: Today, it was reported that 27-year-old Lithuanian biathlete Linas Banis, who competed at the Olympic Games and in the Biathlon World Cup, has passed away.

At this time, the official cause of death for the young athlete has not been announced.

Linas Banis represented the Lithuanian national team at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, where his best result was a 14th place finish in the relay. Banis was also an active participant in World Championships and World Cups.

In 2024, Banis announced his retirement from professional biathlon.
