Details: Today it became known that a terrible tragedy has struck the family of 26-year-old French Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté—his father, Hamadi Konaté, has passed away.

The details and cause of death have not been disclosed, but the footballer himself announced the tragedy by posting a story on his Instagram page, writing:

“There is not a single deceased person for whom a group of at least one hundred Muslims prays to Allah, asking for mercy for him, without their prayers being accepted.”

The funeral procession for Hamadi Konaté will begin on Friday, February 23, at the mosque in Aulnay-sous-Bois, 283 Route de Roissy, France.
