Return after nine years! Manchester City announce the signing of an experienced goalkeeper

Manchester City have officially reinforced their goalkeeping department ahead of the new season.

Details: The 34-year-old Argentine goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli has officially joined Manchester City. The player bid farewell to French side Olympique Marseille and signed a contract with the English club for two seasons, running until the summer of 2028. The transfer fee is reported to be around €3.5 million.

This marks Rulli's second stint at Manchester City. The Argentine first joined the English powerhouse back in the summer of 2016, but was immediately loaned out and never played an official match for the first team. Later in his career, the keeper featured for Real Sociedad, Montpellier, Villarreal, and Ajax. With the Argentina national team, Rulli has celebrated triumphs at the 2022 World Cup and lifted the 2024 Copa América trophy.

It's worth noting that in the 2025/26 season, the Argentine goalkeeper made 39 appearances for Olympique Marseille across all competitions. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value stands at €6 million.
