Barcelona is seriously considering bolstering their defensive line and has already set the wheels in motion for a potentially high-profile transfer. The Catalan club is in negotiations over the acquisition of Inter's central defender Alessandro Bastoni.
According to journalist Matteo Moretto, the left-footed center-back perfectly fits the profile of the player Hansi Flick is seeking. Club management believes the 26-year-old defender can strengthen the backline and form a promising central partnership with Pau Cubarsí.
Reports indicate that Barcelona has already made contact with the player's agent and is discussing possible contract terms. Should an agreement be reached with Bastoni himself, Barcelona will move on to negotiations with Inter.
According to Transfermarkt, Bastoni's market value is estimated at €70 million. His current contract with the Italian side runs until the summer of 2028.
