Ademola Lookman Benched as Atletico Madrid Fall to Barcelona in La Liga Clash

Ademola Lookman was an unused substitute as Atlético Madrid suffered a 2–1 defeat to Barcelona in Saturday’s La Liga encounter.

The Nigerian winger, who has made seven appearances and scored twice this season, watched on as a tense contest unfolded. Giuliano Simeone and Marcus Rashford found the net in a dramatic first half, while both sides were reduced to 10 men either side of the break. Barcelona also benefited from a VAR decision during the game.

Atletico held firm for much of the match, but Robert Lewandowski struck late in the 87th minute, turning in a rebound to seal victory for the visitors.

The result lifts Barcelona further clear at the top of the table, while Atletico Madrid remain fourth with 57 points.
