Pyramids assistant coach breaks silence on why the club opted for Rulani Mokwena as coach

Rulani Mokwena's stints in North Africa is what attracted Pyramids to the South African-born coach.

Mokwena has coached in Morocco, Algeria and Libya with the Egyptian move being the latest one.

The club's assistant coach Mohamed Nagy Ismail Afash disclosed that Mokwena's experience in those country's gave him the nod above other coaches.

"Mokwena was chosen because of his extensive experience in the Arab and African region," said the assistant coach said, per Kora Plus.

"He has been training with the team for two days, and I wish him great success in the coming period. He has great ambition and is very familiar with Egyptian clubs."
