After a long wait, the punishment has finally caught up with Leicester.
Details: According to renowned insider Ben Jacobs on his X page today, the Premier League board has reviewed Leicester's case regarding a breach of the Profit and Sustainability (P&S) threshold and delivered its verdict on the Foxes’ punishment.
It is reported that Leicester have been found guilty of exceeding the Profit and Sustainability threshold by £20.8 million in the 2023/24 season, resulting in a sanction of a six-point deduction from their league tally.
Given that Leicester are currently competing in the Championship, the EFL board today ratified the Independent Commission's recommendation for an immediate points deduction.
As a result, Leicester drop from 17th to 21st in the Championship table, now hovering just above the relegation zone, ahead of West Bromwich only on goal difference.
