PSG prepare a winter transfer surprise! Algerian wonderkid could replace Kvaratskhelia
Paris Saint-Germain are preparing a potentially sensational winter transfer! The French champions have identified Bayer Leverkusen's rising star Ibrahim Maza as a possible solution to their attacking problems following Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's serious injury.
Details: According to Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, PSG have already communicated their interest to Maza's representatives and are considering a move in January 2027. The 20-year-old Algerian international is viewed as a potential replacement for Kvaratskhelia, who suffered a serious knee injury. However, no official transfer bid has been confirmed, and negotiations between the clubs have not been announced.

Maza has become one of Leverkusen's most promising attacking players. The Berlin-born midfielder joined the German club from Hertha in 2025 and has quickly established himself in the squad. He has registered three goals and three assists in ten appearances this season, attracting interest through his technical ability, creativity and versatility.
Leverkusen are determined to prevent a departure. Although Maza's current contract already runs until June 2030, the Bundesliga club want to extend it further and offer a significant salary increase. Discussions are underway, but an agreement is not expected immediately. Manchester City were also reportedly interested in the youngster last summer.
It's worth noting that PSG coach Luis Enrique recently stressed that injuries do not automatically mean new signings are necessary. Nevertheless, he left the door open to opportunities in the transfer market. Maza's possible arrival remains uncertain, especially given Leverkusen's determination to retain one of their most valuable young talents.
Reminder: Leverkusen are keen to extend Ibrahim Maza's contract.
