PSG footballer Achraf Hakimi opened up in an interview with the YouTube program ABTalks, revealing the reasons behind his decision to place all his wealth in accounts under his mother, Saida Mouh’s, name.
The Moroccan player clarified that the move was not related to his marriage or an attempt to shield his assets from his ex-wife following their subsequent divorce.
Hakimi explained that his mother has always managed his finances because he began earning significantly at a young age and lacked the experience to handle money independently. He also shared that he consistently seeks his mother’s advice regarding financial matters.
“When you have money or fame, you can only trust few people. And I think that your mother is the only person that loves you truly, whether you have money or not. She will never wish harm upon me or upon my siblings or the family so she is the person I can trust and can help me,” Hakimi said.
PSG, meanwhile, is reportedly preparing to extend Hakimi’s contract until 2029, with a proposed salary increase to nearly €14 million per year.
