The Champions League final night in Munich kicked off with a troubling incident. Just hours before the opening whistle of the showdown between PSG and Inter Milan, French supporters were attacked in the Munich metro.

According to lequipe, a group of aggressively minded individuals sporting Italian club gear stormed into a subway station and assaulted PSG fans. Some of the attackers, eyewitnesses report, were armed with bladed weapons. As a result of the incident, at least one Parisian supporter suffered injuries.

Law enforcement swiftly arrived at the scene and used tear gas to disperse the attackers. The incident took place at Universität station, as confirmed by Munich police on social media platform X.

Physical altercations occurred at Universität metro station, during which pepper spray was deployed. The investigation into the circumstances is ongoing.

As a reminder, Inter and PSG will take to the pitch at Munich's stadium to determine the best team in Europe. The opening whistle is set for 21:00 Central European Time.
