Plans have changed? Luka Modrić may leave Real Madrid right after the Club World Cup

Luka Modrić has spent many years in Madrid, starring for Real. It seemed he was set to end his career right here, but that scenario might not play out after all.

Details: According to COPE, there is a strong possibility that this season will be Modrić's last in the Royal club’s colors. The Croatian midfielder may announce his departure from Real Madrid as early as after the upcoming weekend if he fails to reach an agreement with the club’s management.

Previously, it was reported that Modrić and Real Madrid had reached an agreement to extend his contract through to the summer of 2026. Modrić's plan was to finish his club career at Real and play his final matches for the national team at the 2026 World Cup.

For the record: Lucas Vázquez will play his final season as a Real Madrid player. He will leave the Royal club after the Club World Cup.
